Department of Urban Design



 

It is one of the college departments and is the link between architecture and urban planning. It aims to create sustainable urban environments that meet the needs of society and contribute to raising the quality of life of city residents. The study in the department is exposed to the history and theories of urban design and practical applications in which the student prepares urban, environmental, social and economic studies to come up with integrated projects that prepare students for the labor market.

 

The department is divided into three internal divisions:

 

- Urban Design Division: Concerned with the formation of buildings, designing the road network, pedestrian movement, and designing services and public spaces.

 

- Landscape Division: Concerned with coordinating open spaces, designing gardens, green spaces, waterfronts and other open areas.

 

- Preservation and Upgrading Division: Concerned with preserving historical areas and areas of distinctive urban value and upgrading random and unplanned areas.
